Trade Management
How to add, import, edit, and manage trades in your Pulsor journal.
Adding Trades
There are three ways to get trades into Pulsor:
1. Automatic Platform Sync
If you've connected Binance Futures, trades sync automatically when positions close. No action needed. See Account Setup for connection details.
2. Manual Entry — Trade Wizard
Click Add Trade from your dashboard or the trades page. The trade creation wizard has three steps:
Step 1 — Trade
Select the instrument (pair), choose direction (long/short), and fill in the core trade data:
- Risk amount and optional reward
- Trade result (win/loss/break-even)
- Entry date and optional exit date
- Optional entry and exit prices
- Balance before the trade
Step 2 — Strategy
Link the trade to one or more strategies:
- Select strategies from your strategy list
- Complete the pre-trade checklist for each linked strategy
- Rate your alignment with each strategy's rules
Step 3 — Mindset
Capture the qualitative side of your trade:
- Add tags for categorization
- Select your emotional state during the trade
- Mark any mistakes (FOMO, revenge trading, early exit, held too long, wrong direction, overtrading)
- Add notes about the trade
3. File Import
For bulk imports or platforms without direct API support:
- Go to Trades → Import
- Upload a file — supported formats: CSV, Excel (.xlsx/.xls), HTML (MetaTrader 4/5 trade reports)
- Map columns to Pulsor fields
- Preview the import and confirm
Pulsor handles deduplication — if a trade already exists (matched by instrument and timestamps), it won't create duplicates.
Trade Detail View
Click any trade to see the full detail view:
- Summary — instrument, direction, P&L, R-multiple, duration
- Prices — entry, exit, stop loss, take profit
- Risk metrics — risk amount, risk/reward ratio
- Strategy — linked strategies and checklist status
- Mindset — emotion, mistakes, tags
- Notes — your trade notes
Editing Trades
All fields are editable from the trade detail page. Changes automatically recalculate derived metrics (P&L, R-multiple, duration) and update your analytics.
Deleting Trades
To delete a trade, open the trade detail page and use the delete option. Deleted trades are removed from your analytics and equity curve.
Note: Trades synced from Binance will re-import on the next sync cycle unless you disconnect the platform.
Trade Filtering & Search
The trades list supports filtering by:
- Date range — custom start and end dates
- Instrument — filter by specific pairs or assets
- Direction — long, short, or both
- Result — winners, losers, or break-even
- Strategy — trades linked to a specific strategy
Linking Trades to Strategies
When adding or editing a trade (Step 2 of the wizard), you can link it to one or more strategies. Linked trades:
- Contribute to strategy-specific analytics
- Show checklist completion status and alignment scores
- Help measure strategy effectiveness over time
See Strategies & Checklists for more on strategy management.
